Global sytem ground stations:
The satellite receive the Argos messages from platforms and the messages are recorded during a complete orbital revolution. The messages are "dump" every time they pass over one of the three global system ground stations Wallops Island, Virginia, USA, Fairbanks, Alaska, USA and Svalbard, Norway providing complete global coverage:
Regional ground stations:
The satellites receive the Argos messages from platforms and relay them to ground in real time over 40 regional receiving stations. The main ground stations also serve as regional receiving stations.
